This way is a little faster than just putting in on the shelf if you've got a sunny window that can help you out.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • Oil of Choice
  • Herb of Choice

Instructions

  • In a clean jar of your choice, fill it approximately half full with dried or wilted herbs.
  • Pour in the oil of your choice, the herbs will float up and breath more as you add oil. Make sure the herbs are well covered in oil and have space to "swim" around.
  • Put a lid on, label it! You think you'll remember. You wont. Date, oil, herbs.
  • Give it a gentle shake. Some may call this voodoo, but I like to think of what I'm going to make with this infused oil. What my intentions are. What my hopes are. Put those thoughts and prayers into your medicine. You're making medicine for your family! You're a powerful person.
  • Put them on a sunny window for about a week. If you think about it, give em a shake. If you dont, thats cool too.
  • I leave the herbs in the oil until I need to use it, so sometimes I'll have them in there for a year...this is all good. I've never had this be a problem as I primarily use gentle herbals.
  • When you're ready to use, strain, squeeze out the goodness of the oils from the plant matter, and use as directed in the recipe.
