Blackberry Glazed Spare Ribs

Using blackberry glaze on pork spare ribs rivals any barbecue sauce. The sweet glaze creates the perfect crust in the oven.

  • Preheat oven to 300°F.
  • Lay out ribs in pan, making sure separate cuts are not overlapping.
  • Sprinkle salt over length of ribs, no more than a teaspoon per rack.
  • Pour blackberry glaze over salted ribs and spread evenly with basting brush.
  • Place in oven for 50-60 minutes, checking periodically.
  • After an hour pull ribs out and reglaze with blackberry to moisten and make sure they don't dry out.
  • Keep in oven for another 45 minutes and add another layer of glaze if drying out.
  • For the last 5 minutes, broil on low temperature to crust glaze a bit.
  • Pull from oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • If desired, add another layer of glaze before serving.

Notes

  • This method will work with any sort of sweet, jam-type glaze.
