No need to grind up all parts of your catch. Venison neck is perfect for slow cooked venison roast sandwiches!

We love to use up all parts of the animal, of course. That's one of the great things about hunting your own food is that you can respectfully use up every last bit. Some people grind up all the "odd" cuts of meat but not us! Venison neck is perfect as a roast.
We love to take this on the go because you can easily make sandwiches. We took the entire crock to the river one day and ended up seeing friends there. We were able to share lunch and it was no matter that we ran out of buns, the men gathered around the pot with their forks and were super happy!
If you're short on time, I love to make the next whole in the Instant Pot. Venison Neck Roast is perfect for slicing up at the table. If you forgot to thaw your meat, Pressure Cooker Venison allows you to make steaks straight from the freezer. If you bagged a moose this year, Slow Cooker Moose Roast fits the bill.
Key Ingredients

FAQs
We love cuts like venison neck; it's like picking up the cheaper cuts of beef that are too tough to just grill. Pop this in the slow cooker and the connective tissues melt right in, making this a super tender cut of wild game when cooked just right. I promise you don't need to grind up these "odd" cuts that you aren't used to using. We prefer to just grind up scraps from cutting roasts and steaks to our liking.
Yes! There are a lot of soy sauce brands out there that specify they are gluten-free. You can also look for tamari sauce or coconut aminos to give you the same taste but without the gluten. Always be aware of the needs of your family and guests! If I freeze leftovers I make sure and write on the bag if I made it gluten-free or not or else I'd never remember.
We love to make our own rolls because we can control the size of them. This makes for really juicy sandwiches. We also love it just as you'd serve stroganoff or pot roast, over rice, noodles, or Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes.

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoon rosemary dried or fresh
Instructions
- Pour your liquids into the slow cooker, add the roast. Mix and sprinkle the salt/pepper/garlic on top of the roast. Sprinkle with rosemary.
- Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 12 hours.
- Pull apart. Serve on a bun, over rice bowls, mashed potatoes…the sky's the limit!
Notes
- Yes, that's a large range of meat but! I promise the amount of liquid works no matter the size of the roast. Nutrition facts are based on 8 servings from 3 pounds.
- Keep in mind that most soy sauce contains gluten. Use tamari sauce or coconut aminos if you need to be gluten-free.
