Making your own salad dressing is super easy. You can adjust the flavours and always have thick balsamic dressing on hand in the fridge.

We love making our own salad dressings, and I highly recommend you do this, too! Bottles have so many gums and preservatives to keep the emulsion together. You can find "better" ones in the refrigerated section, but I don't know about you - I prefer not to spend on those!
Oil, vinegar, and then your flavours. This thick balsamic dressing is just like making Homemade Mayo Caesar Dressing. The technique is perfect to have in your back pocket all summer long. Too tangy for you? Blueberry Salad Dressing is perfectly sweet for those salad-doubters.
Key Ingredients

Oil - I love avocado oil in salad dressings, but any neutral oil works well.
Vinegar - Oil & vinegar are the standard bases, and we are going with balsamic here as our main flavour.
Garlic - Always fresh when making something where you eat it raw!
Tang - Dijon and honey? Yes, please!

FAQs
In our mayo, we love avocado oil the best. In this recipe, I'm fine with mixing in some sunflower or olive oil. It's all about what you have on hand and what you like the taste of. We are adding some decently strong flavours on top so it's not as important which oil you use. Feel free to use a mix. The best part is this isn't a huge amount of dressing so you can easily switch it up next time.
Dirty the jar to make it and just keep it in there! You can invest in some spill-proof, airtight lids if you like. All depends on how full your fridge is and how clumsy the family is! We just use the metal rings and lids, but sometimes the convenience of a one piece lid is worth it! You should be good for about a week in the fridge.
