Homemade ranch is always delicious. Add more tang when you use your homemade kefir and mayo as a base! Your salad will be best dressed.

I love to save on dishes where I can. With our size family and always welcoming over guests, we run the dishwasher quite a lot! So when I can use one jar to make homemade mayo and then use that to make more types of dressing? Sign me up!
Homemade Caesar Salad starts with making mayo, just as this ranch dressing does. I also always have a jar of Homemade Ranch Seasoning in the pantry, so this comes together super quickly!
Key Ingredients

Kefir - I hope you always have a jar or two in your fridge! It's perfect in smoothies, too. I can walk you through making Dairy Milk Kefir if it's new to you.
Mayo - Yes, if you have a jar in the fridge, go for it. But it's easy to make your own as well.
Seasonings - Either use those fresh herbs from the garden or your jar of ranch seasoning.
Acidic Ingredients - These just add tang and pull everything together, and I like to use lemon juice and balsamic vinegar.

FAQs
Yes, this is really easy to do! Most of my kids have needed to avoid dairy at some point, so we quickly learned to make Goat Milk Kefir. Just swap that in and this dressing is dairy-free without any funky ingredients.
I really find this is the best for this type of recipe. It's such a small amount (versus making something like a soup) that it might not whip up well in a large blender that you use for your smoothies. Plus this way you dirty a jar to make mayo and then add the dressing ingredients and it's just one thing to wash!

Kefir Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
- ยพ cup kefir
- ยฝ cup mayo
- ยผ cup balsamic vinegar
- Juice from ยฝ lemon
- ยฝ teaspoon salt
- ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 sprig fresh parsley
- 1 sprig fresh dill
- 5 chives
Instructions
- Mince or chop garlic finely and roughly cut up herbs.
- In a tall jar, add all your ingredients and blend up with immersion blender. You can do the same thing in a regular blender if you donโt have one.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Store in an airtight jar for up to a week.
Notes
- Use as dressing or dip. Marius loves this as a dip with pizza crust.
- If you don't have an immersion blender, this works best with a smaller blender, such as one that has an "individual smoothie" jar.
- Use 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning in place of fresh herbs and garlic powder if necessary.
