Whether a pick me up or a special treat, a strawberry banana kefir smoothie is creamy and delicious. Kids and adults will all enjoy this!

Smoothies are the perfect little treat. They can be refreshing and bulk up your meals. I am also a fan of serving a big mug of smoothie with Avocado Oil Popcorn. Whole grains, dairy, and fruit. Complete meal for a quick lunch!
Blueberry Banana Smoothies are also a great option. Feel free to play around with your fruit based on what's fresh, what's in the backyard, or what's in the freezer waiting to be used up.
Key Ingredients

Bananas - I love how much natural sweetness bananas add. Plus, most people love bananas so it's an easy win.
Strawberries - You can use either fresh or frozen, depending on what you have and what sort of finished texture you like.
Dairy - A combination of kefir and whole milk make this perfectly creamy and smooth.
How to Make the Perfect Smoothie

FAQs
Absolutely! I have made Goat Milk Kefir before, and just add more goats milk as your second liquid. You can also use almond milk and non-dairy yogurt as an option. It really just comes down to what you have on hand. We've also used A2 milk as a great option for sensitive tummies.
We love to make our own dairy kefir. It's a great way to get probiotics in, and is a lovely thick liquid. This helps in texture rather than using frozen fruit. You can also use yogurt (from the store or homemade) and thin it out with more milk. Just play around with ratios to learn what your family loves.

Strawberry Banana Kefir Smoothie
Ingredients
- 3 large bananas or 4 smaller ones
- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
- 2 ยฝ cups kefir
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon honey optional
Instructions
- Peel bananas. Slice strawberries if desired/if using fresh.
- Add all ingredients to a blender jar. Careful as it should get close to the top of your Vitamix or larger blender container.
- Starting off on the slowest level, allow ingredients to gently mix together with lid on.
- Turn off and check level of smoothie. If it is a tad too full with lid on, pour some into a small cup and return lid.
- Slowly increase the speed another level or two making sure it is not too fast but enough to macerate the solid ingredients.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Using frozen fruit is personal preference. It will change the thickness of your smoothie.
- I don't recommend using ALL frozen fruit, as it might be too much for the blender to work with.
